Those were the times when grand moms and their kin wanted some beauty treatments they were a lot more creative in finding ways of keeping beautiful. The women of the past looked amazing, and when they had a beauty issue and had to fix a problem, they looked for the solution in the kitchen, than the drugstore or a beauty salon. Here we share some of your great grandma’s beauty tips that still work like a charm:

Almonds -not just a Dry Fruit
Almonds have more health and beauty benefits than anyone can imagine. If your beautician gives up on your under eye dark circles use crushed and soaked almonds mixed with raw milk under your eyes with a cotton swab for a month or two and see the dark circles disappear!

To Protect Your Hands
In India women use their hands all the time and gloves seem to be an obstruction. There are gloves for everything, gloves for going out, gloves for doing the dishes and gloves for working in the garden. Women give their hands a hard time and then reach for the moisturizer or hand lotions. Your granny kept hers protected and moisturized with the help of fresh cream and a milk and oats solution. Try it this winter and see how soft, undamaged, smooth and clean your hands become.

Lemon is a Friend
For fresh and problem free skin, squeeze a lemon into a container and add the same amount of water, apply the mixture to your pimples with a Q-tip, being careful to avoid your eyes. The antibacterial properties of the lemon will fight the cause of acne and pimples and leave you with a bright and clear complexion. You may also rub the rind on your elbows and hands for a clearer and fairer skin.

Olive Oil for Skin
Olives are not just meant to be on a pizza. The benefits of olive oil for your skin were known even before grandma was born! Simply add some olive oil to your bath water and it will moisturize your skin and help to protect it against the effects of pollution. It’s pure and simple, it won’t irritate your skin and it’s really inexpensive!
